THS Jury Nullification

Jury nullification is a concept where member of a trial jury find a defendant not guilty if they do not support a government law, do not believe it is constitutional or humane, or do not support a potential punishment for breaking the law. This verdict may be given in civil or criminal law. Jury nullification is legally permissible in some jurisdictions, such as the US. In other systems juries attempting to make this verdict can be held civilly or criminally liable for contempt of court.
