THW legalise commercial surrogacy

Surrogacy is a method or agreement whereby a woman agrees to carry a pregnancy for another person or persons, who will become the newborn child's parent(s) after birth. Monetary compensation may or may not be involved in these arrangements. If the surrogate receives money over and above medical expenses for the surrogacy the arrangement is considered commercial surrogacy.

THW legalise commercial surrogacy within the UK

Surrogacy occurs when the carrying of a pregnancy is done by someone who is not the intended parent. It is currently legal in the UK to have a surrogacy for non-commercial purposes i.e. someone can act as a surrogate mother as long as they are not paid more than 'reasonable expenses', e.g. for scans or basic healthcare etc.
